Thank you for the update on Meekie. He must be feeling just awful - the news has gotten worse each time we've had a report. Bless Meekie's sweet, sweet heart, and prayers going out for no more surprises (bad ones) when he gets there.

Update re: my computer:

Yes, yes, I know -- my puter problems were, by now, supposed to be have been long over.

Well, I decided to stick it out a bit longer with my IBM battle-ax (at least through the coming holidays).

Ah, but there's a hitch: A call for repair work on an ancient computer (this one dates back to the stoneage -- hehe) opens you up to major, major sales pitches (a la, 'sir, you'll need a new computer cabinet, an operating system upgrade,' etc., etc).

But -- repair work should begin today. I found a technician who, oddly enough, doesn't think the cost of fixing an old computer should exceed the price of a new one.

I'll keep you posted.
