I was wondering about this, or a very similar issue, on the drive home this evening. I don't think the people in general know how easy it is to acquire shooting, or law enforcement, or para-military skills. There's a college near my lab which offers classes in police technique.
Guy on Fox News, "Brian" just said "militia" three times in one sentence while referring to "Camp Ground Zero." The desperation to avoid mentioning the 363 kilogram gorilla is disgusting...
In any case, I heard an interview with a "local firearms expert" on the radio, discussing the fact that the shooter is really not all that much of a marksman. Is that fact, is the fact that good marksmanship skills are easy to acquire, a good thing to point out, or will it just scare the people into clamoring for more (ineffective) controls and laws?
I don't think more gun control will come of this. Look at the increase in gun sales since this started.
