I'm saying that IF their was an opportunity to catch this person, it is likely gone. This is now a media circus. Any time the sniper wants to know what the cops know, he only need tune into CNN or Fox.

You and I are not going to solve this case, therefore we dont need a running scorecard from Moose(head) on what is going on.

You dont catch a guy by telling the whole world where you are looking for him. These are the comments of the cops I know. They say that Moose should shut up, but he cant now, having established this precedence for a running media show.

Well, my position is... First, let me start by saying, I don't even live in the States and I don't own a telivision. I have only ever read Chief Moose's statements- not heard them (actually no, Drudge played a clip on his last radio show- but it was short) and I have only seen photographs of the man. So I'm coming at this a little colder emotionally than a lot of Freepers I guess.

I agree it is a media circus, but not having a telly, it hasn't affected me per se- I only get the sense that it's a media frenzy by seeing how people are getting all bent out of shape on FR about it. The Atlanta Child Killings were like that too. People at each other's throats and obviously there were racial currents to those killings as well.

Anyway, my position is- even if the sniper goes on to kill another hundred people- it will never ever be the fault of the police. It will always be the killer's fault.

From what I can gather, people are upset about the way Chief Moose talks. But it seems like the cops have a lot of resources at their disposal and they are doing everything they possibly can to catch the guy. I don't imagine they don't want to catch him. People are calling for Ashcroft to take over- that's just crazy. What does Ashcroft know that Moose doesn't know? People are talking on other threads about having soldiers looking for the guy and we need to suspend the posse comitatus... People are just getting carried away.

They're going to catch this guy- he sounds really unstable. I figure they're going to do it soon. But regardless of who's in charge or how long it takes, people should reserve their rage for the motherf==ker that's doing this- the sniper. It's like the democrats wanting to blame Bush for 9/11. It wasn't our fault, wasn't his fault, there's only so much you can do... It's a damn shame people are getting killed, but honestly, there have been worse killers on the loose and it could always get a whole lot worse.
