WTMJ-TV, the NBC affiliate in Milwaukee tonight aired an undercover investigation at a group home for mentally disabled patients in Kenosha, Wisconsin, where campaign workers for Jim Doyle, democratic candidate for governor were handing out small amounts of money and free food to the residents. They then were herded upstairs into a separate room and given absentee ballots to cast their vote for governor. Local reporter, Scott Friedman captured this on camera and broadcast it in an exclusive report tonight on Milwaukee news. The Doyle campaign is not commenting.
Jay Heck, leader of Wisconsin political watchdog group, Common Cause, was stunned at the series of events when he viewed the undercover investigation. Memories of Al Gore campaign workers handing out cigarettes to homeless in Milwaukee, and then taking them to the polls in 2000 immediately came to mind.

Thank you,
I do question the AP article though. According to them the group home was a "low-income" HOTEL . They also named it the Dayton Hotel?
Although it is great to have it in the national media, no matter what its called, this does seem to "soften" it alittle bit.
I told this story to my sister, who is a political illiterate, and she is so angry, she is going to make sure to vote on November 5th, just for the chance to vote against Doyle. (one more vote for McCallum). I wonder how many others out there like her.
BTW my sister used to work at a county home for mentally retarded. And she said that there were some functionally able people that she would take to the polls and she said it was explicitley known that you NEVER tell a resident who to vote for.

The residents of this home had no idea what they are doing or what was going on.And how does that make them different than any other Democrat voter?

Oh, I just looked at your profile. You're not from Wisconsin, so I'm going to have to describe the "highlights" of the Tony Earl era:
- Unemployment 3-5 percentage points HIGHER than the national unemployment
- Every last corporation that could move out of Wisconsin moving out of Wisconsin, and a lot of those that couldn't move going under
- Taxation levels increasing at roughly 4 times that of inflation
- Welfare folks rolling in from across the nation (not just Illinois/Michigan/Indiana/Iowa/Minnesota) to further bleed the few taxpayers that couldn't escape Wisconsin
In order to keep his spending promises, Jim Doyle will have to nearly double taxes.

That is why I put 'normally' in paranthesis. I realize that the 3rd party voters will likely not vote Republican, but it does appear to pull from the conservative base who would vote "R" and give the "D"'s the win. That's all.
To: SteveAustin
Come on, no surprise here! We had a lot of this going on during the Presidential election. Largely ignored by media however.(I still can NOT believe Gore took this state! Not legally anyway) ONLY difference here is they are actually REPORTING it.

Name for me one Libertarian governor and two Libertarian Congresscritters (I'll even give you one; Ron Paul). You've gotta run with what can get elected and bend them to your will because by the time you get candidates that already bent to your will to the point where they get to second place, the RATs will be in irreversible control.

Only after a fashion. There won't be any mention in tomorrow's fishwrap (unless the Kenosha County DA does the completely expected and deep-sixes the charges against his friend's/employer's campaign, and then that deep-sixing will be reported with a straight face).

In order to keep his spending promises, Jim Doyle will have to nearly double taxes.Or foist the tax burden off onto our local property tax bill, thereby being able to prove to everyone come reelection time that he held the line on STATE taxes. Either way, there's no free lunch. A Jim Doyle win = even higher taxes.
To: SteveAustin
No democrat can win an honest election because there's no such thing as an honest democrat!
To: steveegg
Do you know how to get an email address or phone number for the Kenosha D.A.? Perhaps he should hear from us - we cannot allow him to sweep this under the rug!

The Corrupt Lawyer Party, oops I meant Democratic National Committee, clearly micromanages a national directed campaign of voter fraud, from the Rio Grande Valley in Texas, to the Indian reservations of South Dakota, to the wards of Milwaukee, to the polling booths of New Jersey, to every corner of the United States.
The democrats are little more than a criminal gang of thieving thugs like the multimillionaire Clintons, Jackson, and MeAulfee.
They stand only for treason and bribery.
To: SteveAustin
If the Doyle poll worker "helped" with the vote, he belongs in jail. I'm sure there's some democrat judge who will look the other way, but this is awful. Was every vote for a democrat? You're right. It is an outrage.
If you live in Wisconsin though you have to see this...there is the 62 year old Doyle poll worker, wearing a big Packers sweatshirt, serving pieces of Danish roll to all these tragically disabled people, and then herding them to the "side room" to cast their ballots.

I figured the elimination of the school spending caps and QEO into that. We'll be lucky if our taxes are lower than France's after year 1 of Gubner (intentional sp) Doyle, toil, boil and trouble.
But hey, at least we'll have live organ music at Miller Park.
