Mr. Moose just held another news conference. Said the Police Department couldn't communicate electronically with the sniper in the manner he requested. What a mess.
The police said call back to get an 800 number or a PO Box.

"Do you suppose this is tied into the sniper demands?" I certainly hope not. If we are giving in to such demands as this, then terrorists are literally in control of us. I just don't think the president would be intimidated into violating our policy of not negotiating with terrorists.

It's not clear, but it seems to me that there is more in the exchange between the police and whomever they are "talking" to than what has been made public.>>>>>>
Moose stated before several of the messages, that the
message "would only make sense to the person he was replying to".

"The technique is to keep the perp communicating in hopes of eventually flushing him out of hiding, either through a mistake, or through tracing or some other detection method." Yeah, but don't you think he (or they) realizes this too?

One reason for the sudden demand for money might be that the sniper has decided to call it quits. I could see him doing that if he thought they were close to identifying him. It makes me wonder about the AWOL French officer.

My impression is that the sniper is WAY ahead of the LEOs on this. I hope I'm wrong but it seems to me that he is driving this situation, and they haven't even begun to get close to him. Bullwinkle may be a good cop and a nice guy and all that, but I hope he isn't the guy running this show. He does NOT instill a lot of confidence.

He didn't retire. He was, to put it politely, pushed out of his job. He had several problems, one being that he is a very angry man. Another problem was crying "racism" at the drop of a hat. There was a big, public dust up with Nordstom's over that one. IIRC, the big push came shortly after his son was caught selling crack. Portland let him stay until he found a new job.

Speaking of the AWOL French sniper, why haven't photos of him been publicized?

One reason for the sudden demand for money might be that the sniper has decided to call it quits. It's obvious that what transpired today places that scenario in grave doubt.

If the motive is money, why would he (they) wait until 12 shootings later before stating their reasons and demands?.......>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Money & shooting our kids is ALL that's been released about
"the letter" so far........really makes me wonder WHAT
the rest of this letter demands........

All those ready to take over for Chief Moose raise your hands....that what I thought. Give the man a break. Message to the person responsible for these events: *#$@ you. You are not God. You are evil. You are pathetic, everybody hates you. Maybe you can hide for a while, but we WILL find you, and we will kill you.
Message to everybody else: the Consitution of the United States of America clearly states "a well-regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed." The term "well-regulated", at the time the Constitution was written, meant "well-equipped". Our free state is currently insecure due to a sociopath. The police are good at what they do, yet there is a limit to their abilities. Now, all of you able-bodied citizens go get yourselves well-equipped as appropriate, get your butts organized, patrol your blocks, find this creep, and stop him. Just make sure you get the right guy.
Message to anyone who disagrees with what I just said: you got a better idea? Make it happen.
To: BurbankKarl
" 7-11 will make you out a money order..." Yeah, but there is like a $300 limit.

Moose is an example of what Affirmative Action does to America. Looks like you're one of those racist jerks who sees a black guy and automatically assumes "affirmative action."

Yeah, but don't you think he (or they) realizes this too?Sure he does. However, when he is just shooting and leaving notes he is completely in charge. With a dialogue going, the chances of him making a mistake increase substantially.
To: jude24
Actually, in this particular instance it IS true... check his bio, then check for his political connections, and how he came to be hired in the position he currently fills...
THEN come back and try again... Thanks!

When he said electronically, I immediately thought about a wire transfer of money...hmmmm
Exactly how I read into it too, Can you imagine if Moose the Moron could figure out how to negotiate a wire transfer? He could solve everything ( he thinks) by just "paying off" the sniper on his word that he'll quit shooting in return for 10-20 million dollars.
To: Koblenz
I can almost guarantee you what Moose meant by "electronically," and I'll bet $100 it doesn't have anything to do with any wire transfer to Yemen or anything other of the sort.
It means, the sniper told them "Go and get yourself a shortwave transciever, tune it to this number on the dial, and sit there until I start talking. At that point, I'll ask you a series of questions, the answers to which are in this note. When you answer them correctly, I'll provide a routing number to a Swiss bank account. You'll transfer X amount of money into that account. Then you'll never hear from me again. Got it? Thanks."
See "Proof of Life," starring my favorite famous conservative, Russel Crowe, for where I came up with this theory.
The "we're unable to do that" translates roughly into "um, our resident FBI / NSA consultants said we can't do that, since you could be transmitting from anywhere on earth and we can't triangulate it, so we can't trace it, so why not call this insta-trace 800 number instead?"
Unwise move on the part of the police. Somebody else will probably get shot because of it. It's like a hostage situation, where a hostage gets executed every time a demand is refused - only the hostages consist of the citizens of three states.
I've ranged from a lone-nut theory, to an Islamic terrorist theory, to now a master-assassin theory. This guy's probably either one of our own assassins gone Ronin, a Serb or Russian assassin, or some professional sniper graduate of the School of The Americas (Columbian or Peruvian come to mind). With this much heat, it'd be damn near impossible to disassemble a rifle within seconds, and walk away with it, without being seen - unless you've been thoroughly trained to do so.

Good question. I would have thought that one of our fine investigative reporters would have had his picture and bio by now.

What does electronic transfers of fund imply? Overseas ransom. Yup.
To: Koblenz
Why did he wait until Tuesday p.m. to tell us the note that they read Sunday p.m. Is it possible they didn't want to upset the sheeple? Moose said they released it due to alot of public "speculation", but is it possible that they thought, if kids are killed, and leaks from the PD are traced, we lose mass credibility? Am I wrong to be suspicious of this guy?
