Developing morality would imply that things are changing. I don't see it. There are those who believe that they follow a tolerant Islam but when they ask the Imam at these sites, they are directed back to the fold of traditional Islam.

True. That is exactly my point. Many Christians (at least in this country) thought slaveholding was acceptable 200 years ago, while today few if any do. I wonder if there have been any similar changes in Islam over the last few hundred years.
