Yes, they should stop giving out information that should be kept quite. LEO's should instead start having detailed news conferences telling people what to do after the next shooting and how and were to look and report. They should tell everyone to prepare and be watchful and ready to gather as much information as possible. There needs to be more neighborhood watch programs. It will take a brave person to run in the direction of the next shot immediately and look for the shooter.

The authorities are kow-towing to the shooter(s). If authorities suspect, more than not, that this is a terrorist(s) at work, they need to say so. They need to tell everyone that they need to help fight the War on Terror by living their lives without fear.
