Excellent summation. Too many women want a man who will accept them, faults and all...and yet want to change him into something that they can't clearly define. And why can't they clearly define that thing? Because the things that they want aren't found together in nature. They want a man who has strength to share, for them to lean on and draw from, and yet they want primacy in many areas, and in those areas expect the man to kneel before their wishes.
They want a man who makes a lot of money, preferably more than the husband of BettyLou next door, but want to complain that their husband is too focused on his career, not enough on them.
They want opportunities in the workforce, but not the obligations of long hours, of not taking time off, of the boring routine stuff that comes with any position.
They want rights, and opportunities, but don't want to have responsibilities, or see men have equal rights.
They want a husband who will read them sappy poetry about pink posies, and be sensitive to their self-absorbed soap opera view of life, but still see it as his responsibility to take out the trash.
In short, they want a man who will be things which are not congruent together: and to be those things when she wants him to be them, at random.
In sum, they want men/husbands to be the one thing no sane man naturally is, and that no sane man can long pretend to be:
