How about a a woman? Has anyone tackled this angle yet? The thing that bothers me the most is that he/she keeps slipping though dragnet after dragnet. They have widened the search area after each attack. I think its extremely likely that he/she has been stopped several times at roadblocks. I would bet at this juncture a woman could get through a road block more easily then say a male police officer. What do you guys think?

Could be. It's just not the sort of thing one considers. But it could be -- in which case, they'd probably never catch her. I can't even begin to think of a likely profile for such a person other than "psychotic libertarian chick."
(This isn't a slam on libertarians, BTW -- it's just that libertarian females tend to make a big deal about how much they love weaponry.)
