I think he lives in that area, so maybe the dogs can track his scent back to his home. I always wondered why they didn't have teams of bloodhounds just walking the neighborhood around the earliest shootings to see if they picked up anything.

And the way the police always closed bridges back to that area even when other shootings occurred way away in Virginia seems to indicate LEO thinks the same thing.
