A gent I work with told me this morning that the annual rifle marksmanship (read: sniper) competition at Camp Lejeune has been cancelled this year because of all this.

This stinks, but there is is thing called "guilt-by-association" and with all the bad media press on rifles and .223's in particular etc. I would assume that the marksmanship club feels this is being done out of "respect" for the victims. The creep that's doing this should not be called a "sniper" should not be given notorious names, such as "Beltway Sniper". He is a coward with a gun. A murderer. I cringe when I hear the media giving him "titles" that surely elevate his sick ego.
