Probably about announcing the vic's death prematurely; but with the three networks in breaking news-wall to wall mode, those mistakes and miscues will happen.

Speculation is that the hospital jumped the gun announcing the victim's death, at least as far as family notification is concerned. Fred Mertz suggested notification was the issue back on post 772. It appears that most major web news sites are calling it a fatal shooting, CNN included. Sounds like we'll hear for sure on way or the other at the noon press conference.

Moose confirms victim died. Guess I was holding out for better news. D*mn. Pretty sad when "critical condition" can be considered "good" news.
