It was the driver; I agree that this is the shooter's response to law enforcement's lousy response yesterday. I agree that the shooter targeted a person in uniform (bus driver) and it's fairly obvious he got away with another one.

I think the 3 page note left at the Ponderosa in broken English would help catch the perp(s). News is leaking that there might be a demand for money in the note. I don't believe that one bit, and I think it will infuriate the shooter even more. I won't be surprised if the shooter next tries to contact the media or targets the media for his next shot. Just my thoughts.

IF, and I mean a big "if" there was a demand for money, then I would hedge away from the notion that this is AQ or Islamic terrorism that is performing solely for terrorism sake. If there is a demand for money, then this is someone who is thriving off of the terror aspect to personal gain. But since we don't really know, it is hard to tell. Until I hear in a press conference from the police that the shooter demanded money, then I won't believe it completely. The media has done such a p!ss poor job of getting the facts correct. (Not that the media has ever done a good job of getting the facts right mind you)

I have been thinking this may be the next step as well. If it is the sniper who wrote the note and made the call(s) to police, he will not be content to have his message garbled by LE. If he has a message he wants let out, he will try to get it out any way he thinks he can.

Fred - The perp lives in Wheaton...he is riding a bicycle...he is also riding buses that can "load a bike" on the back...the PERP has gotten paranoid and wants the comfort of home CLOSER to his shooting arena the Virgina forays is getting old...he wants to be CLOSE to home IN MONTGOMERY COUNTY in Wheaton...he KNOWS that the bus driver would eventually put 2 and 2 together...he killed the bus driver to prolong his reign of terror in HIS BACK YARD.

He knew the bus driver...he knew the bus route, he knew the bus driver would eventually remember seeing this "weird guy on his route"...or put together that a shooting is happening to CLOSE to a recent pick up or drop off...
