To: Lion's Cub
Additionally, the election is 2 weeks away. Imagine very few people going to the polls. Imagine the chaos that would cause inside our government (remember Florida 2000). Here in Fairfax County, schools are closed on election day and most voting takes place at the schools. I have spent my share of hours standing outside handing out literature and sample ballots for Bush, et al. We have two weeks. Do you think we can get an emergency change to the election roles so that we can hand out out materials INSIDE the school? The Virginia Attorney General is a Republican; the Governor is from the other side. Advice please: Should we start working this issue, or be optimistic that this will all be over by then? (My kids haven't had recess in what, three weeks? This is already the new normality for them.)

I'd not thought of that.

I don't think it would hurt to write the state legislature and remind them of that. I don't know what they'd decide to do.
