Oh God, that is pathetic. Imagine the killer having to CALL IN to tell them what to look for. I feel sick.

There was a demand for money, time line and for (other things which is not public at this time).

"BTW, WTOP news at the top of the hour says victim "in hospital" so I'm assuming that means still alive. Let's hope so.Victim died. I'm late on this thread and trying to catch up, but news confirmed the victim didn't make it.

"Rita Cosby is on the downside of her success peak. She is mediocre at best..." No argument here...and now "her sources" include the Son of Sam!!

I am listening to WTOP as I type this. They say there will be statement regarding the man's condition coming up but I didn't hear a specific time. I'm aware of the earlier reports, though. Keeping my fingers crossed that the TV media jumped the gun.

I would like to see if the shootings that were close to each other have different "signatures" in terms of the 'quality' of the shots -- were they kill shots or wound shots? With the ammunition that they are using, I don't think it makes that much difference. They just have to hit the torso. Even though some of the victims are still living, they will never have the same quality of life again, either physically or psychologically.
Question for the gun experts, since all of the bullets are fragmenting as far as I know, how can the police say for sure that there is only one riffle involved? If a group of shooters all bought rifles that were alike, there is nothing in the ammunition fragments that would distinguish one gun from another is there? As long as there are no more casings left at the scenes, how can the authorities know if there is only one riffle or several?

I am going to start looking for a gun, my first, this weekend.I know that for many Americans this is a heartbreaking choice, but they, too, will follow in your footsteps and arm themselves. It is the only way to defend oneself against an armed aggressor.
Reminders from a FRiend:
Treat every gun as if it is loaded until you confirm otherwise.
Never point a gun at anyone or anything that you do not intend to shoot, loaded or unloaded.
Practice, practice, practice.

Thanks, David. Surprised it hasn't made the mainstream news - this is Huge if WND has it right.

You know. Even if you have never heard the spine chilling sound of a pump shotgun being chambered, and you were in a dark house, prowling around, and you heard that sound you never heard before, you will still know what it was and you would still have that "oh sh!t" factor.

Hmm, no, Fox's Catherine Herridge reported it half an hour ago.

Why wouldn't the school at Saint Cyr have a photo of the guy?
To: mitchbert
I think WTOP is holding up announcing the bus driver's death until NOK are officiallly notified. From reading above comments, it seems like one or two networks jumped the gun.

Thanks. See Post #755 - info from WND - not particularly reliable. Hoping it's true but will take a wait and see attitude.

First consider for what and for where you want the gun. If you plan to carry, get one small and light enough so that you will carry it. Find what is comfortable for you, because you'll leave the uncomfortable one home.

If reports are correct, he called police from a payphone in the area to tell them of the note he left on a tree in the wooded area after they failed to find it. I am told this is totally bogus and manufactured by leakers who want to curry favor with the news media.

I can't imagine they'd report a death unless they were sure, but I guess it could happen.
To: tomkat
A little tough for concealability. But hey, they make a big bang. Quite frankly, the "bang" factor is very important. Most perps will be repelled by the "bang" factor.

I know; I'm just posting what I'm hearing on WTOP. They could of course be well behind the curve and if they change the news I'll post asap.

I'm leaving for now. Feel so bad about this, that poor family, God bless them everyone. Another American dead.
