American ex-pats can be found all around the world. Start your journey by clicking here. Personally, I have my eye on Belize. America is heading downhill FAST; plan accordingly.
I don't plan on buying any property or starting a business anywhere, though: I'm reducing my holdings to a 30' bluewater sailboat. I've always wanted to be an ocean-hippie!
I have an acquaintance who's been out there for 22 years and twice around the world. Just married a gal from China, and doesn't appear to feel like he's missing anything. I'm tired of cleaning gutters (thanks Fred Reed), political angst, and all the life-sucking duties of middle=class existence. I gotta live before I die.
Send you a postcard.
Thanks for the link. I am going to check it out. For myself, I probably wouldn't make the move, considering my age, but I would like to give my children and grandchildren a place to go.
Thanks again
I if any will return when TSHTF. There won't be much left in the world worth defending if they don't.
It took 6000 years of nation-state history for a society to found the first system where the governing body is small, well-defined, answerable to the people, checked-and-balanced agaist itself, and dedicated to the rights of the individual rather than the whims of the majority or some 'elite' fools. There was no guarantee that the experiment would ever get started. There was no guarantee that it would ever stay safe. There is no guarantee that we will ever see another in the next 6000 years... or 60,000. More than just 270 million Americans will be in peril if we forget why this nation is so critically important.
