I did note that one of the reporters tried to make the point that sure Cheif Moose’s job is to investigate crime, but that it is also to let the public know if they are safe or not, seems that Moose did not grasp that point.

I get the feeling, as many people have thought, that Moose has significantly put his foot in his mouth with comments made after prior shootings, and he has been told -- either by the shooter or the Feds -- that he had better go out and keep his extemporaneous comments zipped. At the same time, he is desperately trying to stroke the same media that he has dissed (by letting them ask questions that he won't answer), since now he needs their help in getting these messages out.

Well let's see.....The metro DC force has managed to lock up one witness for providing misleading statements,(who has by the way been denied bail) and two undocumented hispanics who's big crime was driving a white mini-van and using a pay-phone. There are most likely some pretty good deals on used white vans in that area right now. Nobody will even take them out for a test drive.

There is no difference between making jokes about 1) Moose for not catching the sniper yet and 2) Bush for not catching Bin Laden.

If you can't tell the difference, what is anyone going to be able to tell you? OBL is probably a greasy smear and a pile of charred bones. Bush, Rumsfeld, and Rice enunciated a clear and compelling case all along the way. They know what is at stake, and what must still be done.

Chief Moose is just about as far from that as you can get: a highly credentialed fool with a resume stuffed with PC bueaucrat positions. Is there any wonder he sounds like he is in waaaay over his head? He has poisoned the reliability of witnesses with half-baked "information" and gotten his chain yanked by wannabes and poseurs. Imagine Madeline Albright and Jimmy carter running the War on Terror and you get the picture.

This is absolutely hillarious! The media's going nuts with itself trying to figure out what's going on. I'd like to know for myself as much as anybody, but watching the media hacks squirm in the informational void is simply priceless.

I have a really bad feeling overall about what is what.

LEOs in the US generally don't negotiate with bad guys unless something major is on the table. We all know that the FBI is driving, yet Moose is still the face out front.

I have been saying for a while now, the best thing for Moose and the rest of the task force to do is to make a determination what information they are comfortable disclosing, come out, make a statement with whatever that information is and walk away until he has further information for the public.

It is the fact that he says he will take questions and then answers everyone with, "it would be inappropriate...", that makes him look like such a doofus.

Tell us everything you can as soon as you can and call it done.
