Got post #214 from CAPITOL GRILLING (just to give them the credit).

I got the link to the SKY NEWS article/website from www.capitolgrilling.com. Click on their Message Board, find the SNIPER RAMPAGE thread started by "Rosie the Riverter" and browse through pages 20 - 22. Amazing stuff...

Here is their latest gem, a post by "Cloak Ears":

Scoop from MSNBC's Nachman (second hand from a long time LEO in Richmond) The Richmond paper just got an exclusive interview and they are going to say that there have been many Tarot cards left at the scenes of the shootings before. [not just the death card in Bowie] The number of the phone booth was in the long note from the sniper Saturday. The police missed the call [and only got 25%] because they didn't get to the phone booth in time. FUBAR at the lab already discussed on CG.. The sniper used the same pay phones that the Mexicans stubled onto today and LE was staked out there. The pay phones are the way sniper leaves messages on a dial-in 800 number that is really just a message line. You dial in leave and get your messages. Police can trace the calls but only after the fact since the pay phone number is logged after the call.

you make alot of sense about how our govt. has not worked to provide security for its citizens...which in reality is its only real assigned job....

think about smallpox and other communicable diseases.....why haven't we kept up to date on our vaccines....why are they splitting doses now just to make the vaccines available go farther....

instead, we get the crucifixes in urine paid for by Uncle Sam....

I don't know. Read it again, and try not to be impressed with the length or the fancy phrases. Take a second gander and try to grasp the substance. Perhaps he should have been a social worker rather than a cop? I especially love this one example:

In 1997, established a General Order on less than lethal force to allow the capture of armed and violent suspects without using deadly force.

I don't know about you, but I think his priorities are a bit out of order. Had this been with regards to any criminal suspect, perhaps ok. I don't like cowboy cops shooting things up uneccessarily. However, this specific little wonder-accomplishment specifically focused on aremed and violent suspects. The question becomes: What sacrifices are made, and what additional risks to an officer's safety, or to the public's safety, are deemed acceptible in reaching this lofty goal?

As I stated, his biography suggests he is in the wrong profession. He should perhaps join the welfare department or something and leave police work up to policement. His job is to catch criminals, not to create day care centers.

No, not an empty suit. Each to his or her own opinion...

That's pretty impressive, except the part about him going to Carolina.......LOL.

I'm not going to criticize him, that's for sure. I know I couldn't do as well as he's done.

You are rather easily impressed. What part are you impressed with? The establishment of day care centers, the membership in clubs focused on race, or the hiring of a bunch of secretaries? The esteemed Junior Senator from New York has an "impressive" resume by the standards you apparently apply as well, but you may more readily recognize in her case that length and activity does not equal "good for us." Again, consider the substance. His priorities are all wrong. Like I said, it might be impressive for a social worker, but not for a LEO, in my not so humble opinion.

Note that I have issued no criticism with respect to his handling the case. Probably because I realize that he isn't the one handling it anyway.

Well, since you disagree with his priorities, how about putting up your resume so we can make a comparison.

That is not a response to my post. It is a Clintonian deflection. MY resume is not the issue being debated. However, if you are in the HR field, you are more than welcome to jump onto a few Executive Search sites and try to guess which one is mine (I'm not looking, so if you find it and wish to hire me, it will cost you an awful lot). :}

Well, I guess if that is the best you can do, I need not worry about it then, need I?

Anyway, all are god's children.

Presumably the person (the sniper?) left a number and told the police he would call them there. Either a pay phone or he knows they can reroute the number anywhere they want. This way when he calls that number they know it's him, since it hasn't been made public. Still very strange.

I still don't understand it because anyone with any sort of knowledge knows that numbers can be traced so it doesn't make any sense that the sniper would leave a number that he will call from. Then they can just take that number and trace.

I believe the sniper left a phone number for a specific location such as the montgomery county headquarters, maybe moose's home phone number. Who knows but he definently didn't leave his own phone number. It is also a possiblity that he left the number for the payphone at which the two unfortunate illegals were busted at.

Don't flatter yourself. That's certainly not the best I can do; it's the MOST I'm going to do to somebody who is busy nitpicking a guy's resume on a thread about a sniper.

Whether you agree with him or not politically, that's a mighty impressive resume, leaving aside the fact he's a Carolina alumnus.

Don't worry about it; at least you didn't post "I Am a Muslm." You just THINK people are being testy about Moose's resume. That was one embarassing thread.

As the world turns......

Over the last 48 hours this has all turned into a friggin' soap opera co-starring a guy named Moose and an anonymous psychopath. These are certainly interesting times for us news junkies.
