Homeschooled young women seem to have no goal beyond working at a day care center, and display no ambition or sense of competitiveness.

Thus, those critical work skills, so crucial to career success, aren't as likely to be imparted at home, despite hat homeschool advocates say.

I've been reading through this thread and had to add my two cents.

My experience with homeschoolers is from knowing my wife and her family and friends. My wife was homeschooled through grade 12. She is 24 years old, has a music degree, a nursing certification, a dietary management certification, and a therapeutic recreation certification, and she is a Department Head at a large senior acute care facility. She plans on running the place within 2 years. The only reason why this may not happen is that when we have children she plans on staying home... and eventually homeschool them.

The difference between her and most other people in her field (or any field) is she actually cares about her job, not just about the paycheck and the title. And, equally important, she and her siblings' greatest assests are that they can think outside the box. Public schooling does not teach you this valuable skill. In my experience, when all other things are equal, the homeschooler is more qualified for the job.

You sure don't live up to your screen name! ;-)

Every line you write is full of common sense...not a single note of sarcasm to be found! LOL...

I don't think I've been quite so restrained on this particular thread...but there have been things said here that push my buttons.

God bless you, and stay thankful every day for such a wonderful mate that God has given you!
