To: Chancellor Palpatine
I know the poor kids personally.

They never learned to read to begin with because of the failed experiment foisted on them by your friends in the educational establishment who just can't admit that whole language reading programs are nothing short of child abuse.

How many more millions of kids are going to get a substandard reading foundation because of this institutional abuse?

Ah - the quasi-religious devotion to phonics.

Whole language uses quite a bit of rote memory - like that required to do a spelling or geography bee. most teachers are using a combination - with a great deal of success, I'll add, because I've seen both methods used.

Of course, as is expected, you are using hyperbole again - the shrill cries that we've come to expect from homeschoolers on this board.
