No, of course your right...I mean it's unreasonable of Mrs. O'Dell to expect her children to be free from abuse by students and teachers at school and that teachers will actually teach them and assist them with their studies, not do the work for them to make themselves look better. What an unreasonable scumbag this Mrs. O'Dell is to think and expect her children get a better education than the one the state "certifies".

I don't know what state you live in where your public schools have allowed to deteriorate to the point where a kid cannot get an education and do so without being abused.

I live in Minnesota. The worst two school districts (from a test-score standpoint) are Minneapolis and St. Paul. Not a big surprise. Lots of poor folks and immigrants live in the core cities and they either produce dumb kids or don't push them to get educated. My older kid attends a public elementary school in St. Paul. She doesn't get abused and she does get taught and helped with her studies. She's learning. She likes going to school. The kids in her school are learning, they are relaxed, and they are happy.

If that's not the case where you live, you ought to consider working to change the system or moving.

Opting-out seems ultimately futile because the products of the abandoned and deteriorated school system (undereducated and savage children) will simply rob and kill our offspring at some point in the future.
