My guess is he's asking for something that the cops don't want to make public.

I think there's a good chance they are asking for Ahmed Abdel-Rahman, the son of the blind sheik in federal prison for the 93 WTC bombing.

Terrorist Cleric's Son In Gitmo?
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/fr/620477/posts

Ahmed Abdel-Rahman was captured in Afghanistan last month by anti-Taliban forces. Vice President Cheney has indicated he is likely to face a U.S. military commission.

Abdullah Abdel-Rahman said it appeared anti-Taliban forces had turned over all their prisoners to the United States. He said he had heard reports that his brother was in U.S. military detention at Guantanamo.

Members of Egypt's parliament have demanded the government report to the People's Assembly on nine alleged Egyptian Al Qaeda members, including the sheik's son, detained by the United States, the London-based pan-Arab newspaper Asharq al-Awsat reported.

Another son of the sheik, Mohamed Abdel-Rahman, was reported dead last month after he was wounded in the bombardment of Afghanistan's Tora Bora caves. U.S. officials believe the two sons, in Afghanistan since 1989, were senior members of Al Qaeda, the terror group led by Osama Bin Laden. But Abdullah Abdel-Rahman has denied that, saying the group his father led and to which his brothers belonged, al-Gamaa al-Islamiyya, had several differences with Al Qaeda.

I believe the message may have been something along the lines of "give the sheik back his only living son, or you will find out what it is to lose your children".

This would explain the feds' trip to Gitmo and the school closures. It is also typical of the MO of these groups.

Blind Sheik Rahman has much to do with U.S. terrorism By Eric Fleischauer DAILY Copy Editor

Osama bin Laden's expressed loyalty to him demonstrates Rahman's importance to Islamic militants. Last year, bin Laden swore in a videotape that "we will work with all-out power to free our brother, Sheik Omar Abdel-Rahman and all our prisoners in America, Egypt and Riyadh (Saudi Arabia)." One of Rahman's sons, Ahmed Abdul Rahman, was in the videotape and urged Muslims to "move forward and shed blood." The northern alliance announced Thursday that it captured Ahmed, who goes by the name "God's sword." Bin Laden and other Islamic militants issued threats as to the consequences of a conviction of Rahman, and more specifically threatened a violent reaction if Rahman ultimately dies in a U.S. prison.

Good post, Lion's Club. There's no way the feds were simply going to Gitmo to see what detainees know - they were going to show videotape/composite pics and perhaps handwriting on messages.
