Last week a lawyer I know told me that a friend of his is investigating the Fairfax Home Depot shooting.
The husband of the woman saw a man in a vehicle staring at them. He turned to his wife, and said something like, "I wonder what that guy is doing?", turned back, and saw the man shoot his wife from 30-40 yards away.
No description of what the man looked like or the vehicle. I have been waiting for the police to say something about it, and I find it incredible that they have not.
I disagree with the policy of not giving out information about the investigation.

See #38. The Home Depot shooting/hit sure is confusing.

i think it is clear that the guy was in the parking lot across the street from the Home Depot in Falls Church and NOT in the HD parking lot. SO i don't buy the 30 yards from the victim.

saw the man shoot his wife from 30-40 yards away. That would explain why the police spent so much time searching the HD parking lot, and left the school parking opposite Rt 50 alone for 36 hours (in fact the newsies used it to park their trucks, and the police seemed entirely disinterested in declaring it a crime scene, at least for the first day-and-a-half).
But on the other hand it doesn't explain why the police later declared parts of the school grounds as a crime scene, and began searching the parking lot on Wednesday morning.
Either the shooter was near (or in) the HD parking lot, or the shooter was near (or in) the school parking lot. Not both.
So I'd guess there is some uncertainty in the account you've posted. Otherwise they'd never have spent time at the school grounds, even if it was 36 hours later.
