Italians don't use "le." It would be la morte.

"La morte" in Italian is "death". "Le morte" is the plural of "la morta," "the dead women," "the dead woman."

Certainly Italian uses "le". It's the feminine plural of the definite article. To quote Dante: Guardai in alto, e vidi le sue spalle.
