>>>This can not have happened. Australia has passed sweeping gun laws, and gun laws prevent criminals from getting guns. Case closed.<<<
My thoughts exactly. Gun laws were to prevent all of this!

Interesting, the CNN article seems to have been taken directly from this report, but they seem to have gotten a couple things turned around. . .perhaps in their haste or maybe the facts have changed; but the following is from the Monash University Website:
"Incident at Monash University"
At approximately 11.20am today a shooting took place at the Menzies Building on the Clayton campus of Monash University. . .
Two men of Asian appearance have been killed and five people are injured and are in hospital receiving treatment. The extent of their injuries is not known.
. . .maybe not 'related' to terrorism; just a gut response to it. . .

Demidog is desperate to deflect damning data away from the Moslemaniacs. No excuse is too lame, no falsehood too blatant to use trying to paint the followers of Islame as normal, peaceloving, righteous people.
It is funny actually.

Again? Yes. Again. Just like Waco. Just like Ruby Ridge. Only this time, Hillary will have a patriot act to help her. Thanks to President Bush.

And after Bush leaves office, the number of angry white supremist crimes might just get reported to titilate and provoke a nation. And Y2K might kill us all.

Not only that, but they confiscated all civilian hand-guns!

Well "Australia is a multi-cultural society now" and it's not proper to highlight such things as diversity killings.
But it appears at least one of the victims was Vietnamese and the gunman was Chinese. (I would have expected those nationalities or possibly Cambodian).

Not only that, but they confiscated all civilian hand-guns! No they didn't. The last confiscation was semi-automatic and pump action long guns.
This is the time calls will be are being made to "buy-back" legally owned handguns.
Even though I personally am betting the guns used by the Chinese gunman were
1. Not registered
2. Illegally smuggled into the country
