It seems reasonable that it would take a day to institute the security measures (though as I said earlier I don't see what's so good about those procedures).

These people on this thread would rather call people names than see the logic and reasoning behind planning, or understand it's better to be cautious and stay alive. One day out of school has grown to "forever." Who's exaggerating here?
They had a whole day to do that. It's not that hard to do.
