We don't know in what form the message was left. It could have been a phone message on the machine at the ponderosa, it could have been a note, or a cell phone...they haven't said...they haven't even said that it was from the sniper.Exactly. Why is everyone jumping to the conclusion that is was a written message left at the scene? It was a phone call I bet after the perp barely got away and was impressed with the Ashland chief.

This is what he wants them to think. He probably rented a storage area big enough for his vehicle somewhere near by or rented an apartment or house with a garage near by. He slid into it quickly and laid low until they stopped searching vehicles in the area. Maybe he went up to his newly rented apartment and watched the news and laughed.
