>>...Fathers went from a family pillar to a family burden...<<

That has been by design.

Notice that for several decades, fathers on network TV shows have been portrayed as idiots while the wife and kids are shown as being smart.

I can't recall a SINGLE network TV show that portrayed a father as strong and smart.

I believe it is a concerted effort by liberals/socialists to destroy the family. They want to denigrate the father and put the woman into the traditonal role as head of the household.

Good point, the only time a father is good is if he has some form of abnomality. (ie homosexual, blind, gave up job to be artist)

Part of the problem is fathers are rightfully angry over being reduced to a mere checkbook. The support system is only about money. How about making the support system respond to the fathers' who have been denied support? Often the support workers just say "not my department" or "thats for the judge to decide". So you wait anywhere between 2 weeks to three months for a hearing on the issue of visitation. Then there is a hobsons choice for the father: 1. the mother goes to jail for contempt for disobeying a court order for visitation and the children and "mommy" will say daddy sent mommy to jail or 2. reach areement to "make up" visitation after the damage is done. Either way the system is not designed and judge do not have the intestinal fortitude to agressivly enforce visitation. Share parental responsiblity is a legal euphamism that was adopted to keep non custodial parents on the financial hook. (if a parent has sole responsibility then they are solely responsible.)

Perhaps the system should be fixed by parents who are in the system.
