At least the DC area is not going to the extreme of closing all the schools.
Curtailing outdoor activities I can understand, but the cancellation with which I most disagree are Homecoming Dances, which are indoor events. I have been told that some dances are being cancelled because some kids are afraid to go to strip malls to have their hair done and to pick up flowers. [So do your own hair and make up at home, and have the flowers delivered.]
I have not noticed if anyone has mentioned that in the last three weeks a number of capital area teens have been seriously injured or killed in vehicle accidents, far outnumbering the one shot by a sniper. Am I the only one who perceives that the traffic hazards of moving football games a couple hours away may outweigh the possible danger of letting them play at home? (Yes, I DO have a child in high school who is directly affected by moving the games.)

School closings are pretty extreme....(br)
Does this mean the message was some type of threat to schools or children?
