The other thread is running over 2800 posts...so here's a new place to post for Sunday.
Per FOXNews, a 10am EASTERN news conference is planned. Two travelers pulled off I-95 for dinner at a Ponderosa Steak House. The Man, 37, was shot in the gut while his wife stood next to him.
Bullet has NOT been removed from the man while, after surgery, he remains in Critical but GUARDED condition, however, x-rays are expected to provide some dimensional analysis of the slug. Further surgeries may be required on the victim, according to FOX and then the bullet is likely to be recovered.
Meanwhile, the "white" box truck/van that was found with a "Shell" in it at Dulles is reported to be a 7.62 (.030'??) OLD shell and NOT expected to be part of the "Sniper Shootings".
Multiple LEA's are now in Ashland, VA located about 80 miles south of DC to begin more site investigations at first light of dawn.
Numerous witnesses in the area saw the man fall down and provided aid to the man. The man was still conscious and spoke during the rescue. According to (spit) CNN, there will be NO news conferences from the hospital.

Personally, I wouldn't try it, but I've been told that using a sabot it can be done without decreasing accuracy at the distances we're talking about here.

"
Actually, it's an old trick to force a .223 bullet through a .223 barrel, then fit it into a 7.62 casing and fire it through a 7.62 barrel so that the markings on the bullet can't be traced to a specific barrel."
Something to think about. If this what was done in the manner you describe, even incorporating a sabot, the sniper has to be a diaperhead. Why go through all that trouble to put striations on a bullet that has never been fired? Why put it through the .223 barrel in the first place???
Yep, it'd have to be a diaperhead.......

They said his wife was taking it pretty well because she was a strong woman but that she was the only person with him at the hospital that they know of. They still have not provided a name which makes me kind of suspicious of who he is. I wonder if he is employed with the FBI, etc.?

Sadly, the only one in trouble so far on the police side, is the Lieutenant last night, that ordered refreshments for the press, and was holding press conferences every 30 minutes.

"What we need is a geometry teacher and a cartographer! They could figure the angles, and map out his locations- at least we'd know where to look for bad guys when we are out and about." Don't know whether that would help or not. I took a round on the side of my right leg once- just below the knee. Blew out a chunk of meat that you could make a generous quarter-pounder of. It then took a right angle turn and ended up in my ankle. Go figure..........

Makes you wonder- I just heard on Fox they are not releasing his hometown, either. Only that he is not from the area.
It is SOP to use a false hospital identity for victims of violence- and to strictly control access/information that might make them a continued target. Usually this is for someone who is a potential witness.....hmmmmmmmmm
To: kcvl
They still have not provided a name which makes me kind of suspicious of who he is.Has anyone released the names of the other two surviving shooting victims? I hope not, for their safety.
To: OReilly
Me,too. I like the Freeper hypothesis that the local LEO were just figure heads to keep the feds from haing to deal with the mediamorons. Works for me.
Love your "horse"!

Remember this guy is armed with a long gun. Even if you spot him it will be hard to get close enough to him to get a fix.

It hit the bone with inadequate force, and took the path of least resistance until it ran out of steam. Lucky you! Bullets do bad things to bones- hard to fix.
Neither of these victims have had spinal injuries, so the bullets most likely passed through all soft tissue. Not a lot of bones in the midsection.

"I sure hope the committee running this investigation, knows what it is doing. The following is a horse designed by a committee:"
Looks something like a white Taliban van.

No names, no identifying info. Just that they are not from the area.
Poor wife trying to cope with all this alone- at lest the boy had his family with him. Too sad.

"It hit the bone with inadequate force, and took the path of least resistance until it ran out of steam. Lucky you!" Nope- didn't hit the bone! Thank God. It hurt like hell- could'a hurt even more had it indeed hit the bone!

Looks something like a white Taliban van. Even Better...
BTW I just heard the worst truth of this mess.
If this isn't a ME terrorist incident, the next one will be! (ex Police Commission from Phili)

I bet it hurt! The tissue damage you couldn't see (under the surface) is actually worse than the ugly hole it left. And it affected your entire lower leg-- OUCH!
Glad you're okay.

Thanks.......
