Prayer always works - the minimum it accomplishes is more humility in the one praying. I was reading Jeremiah day before yesterday - "Will I not avenge myself on such a nation as this?" The punishment for wickedness can be severe - but it is never too harsh. The wicked never get more than they deserve. The Lord God is never outwitted or overpowered. He did allow Jezebel to live 20 years between the murders and her payday. Payday Someday!
