You misunderstand the duty of a LEO. They do not protect you, so you do not NEED them. They are only responsible after a crime is committed to apprehend the criminal. Need for protection and need for prosecution are two different definitions.

I said nothing about protection. If you will re-read my post, all instances were for apprehension after a crime had been committed.
