I haven't heard John Gibson repeat anything about the 2nd shot again.....maybe said in error, but I did hear him say that....Now John back from commercial break.....still only repeating the Ponderosa shooting......

I heard him refer to a "second" shooting too. I think he mis-spoke. It does sound like this is being treated like the killers from D.C.

Rural localities ready if sniper alters pattern

Area localities just outside the sniper's attack zone are preparing for the worst and hoping for the best.

Although the shootings so far have occurred in busy areas near major interstates, officials in Culpeper, King George, Caroline and Orange counties are preparing in case he strikes there.

"We have a contingency plan in place," Culpeper Sheriff Lee Hart said. "I held a meeting with all my people [Tuesday] morning to go over what to do if something does happen."
