What "civil rights" do you want to limit?
The SOLE purpose of the United States government is to defend our Rights as a Free people.
I, for one, will NOT surrender any of my God-given Rights, which millions have fought and died for, just because a few panty-wearing sissies are "afraid" of a bunch of sand goblins who were let into this country by the same government which seeks to restrict our Rights.
We have unguarded and open borders coupled with loose immigration policies. Hell, the State dept. is even holding lotteries to allow people from terrorist countries to come here. Many local governments are even recognizing ID's from a foreign country (Mexico) here. So now, the murderous goblins don't even have to get US identification. They can just go to Mexico and get ID cards there.
As long as these policies continue, how can any American possibly consider surrendering their Rights?
By the way, our "leaders" have said this "war" might last 100 years. Are you for surrendering our liberties for 100 years? This is not even taking into account the awful effects a "police state" will have on our economy. Eventually, it will destroy it, and we will be nothing more than a nation of 300 million slaves competing against a world of 6 billion slaves? Want to guess who will win that? Of course, maybe that's the plan.
War is not without sacrifice. Our self-proclaimed Muslim enemies understand our weak points--and insistance that individual liberties supercede life itself and security in order to live is one of those weak points.
I am not saying civil liberties are unimportant. But our nation's founders would have laughed at the notion that my right to privacy can be basis to protect those who would take away those very liberties.
This place has gotten mighty scary, hasn't it? Hope you got a spare brown t-shirt. Maybe an arm band or two. Gonna have to blend in, b4 long...
