The "Rough Area" comment reminds me of the JAG show on Monday.
Ashland is about as pleasant, genteel and suburban as one might find anywhere.
Good dental work amongst the population, Starbucks, suburban sprawl.
The reporters who commented on the "Rough Area" have been watching TV. On JAG last Monday night they had everyone in "Southern Virginia" (Virginia Beach) talking like the Dukes of Hazard..(they have no accent there...it's a national melting pot)
They had Little Creek Amphib base in a wilderness of drawling sherrifs and winding roads. It is actually in a 30 mile radius of six cities totaling almost 2 million.

Whoever it is seems very patient and very determined.

The shooter is not making a bee line for I-95. I'm sure they watch the news.

FOFLOL. They're impressed, said its the first time they've ever had an interactive news broadcast.

I was at a Home Depot today. It wasn't that busy. Of course, I think their selection sucks. Won't go there again for a while- and it isn't because of the sniper.

It is logical to think that this person even got on the beltway..but went down back roads.
This is a huge net to cast.

Exactly. The shooter is going to do the exact opposite. WHo they hell is this guy on FOX? He sounds like a fool.

[You think Michael's business is off? I'm in Texas and the thought of going in one creeps me out.]
I don't know, but I wonder if most people just aren't as aware of the details as we are here. Maybe it's just not very apparent to most people, if it's not being emphasized on the regular news channels and in print.

Larry Johnson, former CIA officer, on Fox news just made a very interesting statement (I paraphrase): "The police have partial plates from witnesses at the last shooting of the FBI employee. The police had those folks under surveillance. Therefore if all of those people were watched, that makes this situation very interesting."
Translation (my explanation) - either this is a copy cat shooting, or these are terrorists working teams because these/this shooter(s) cannot be linked to the previous shooting.
Comments on this interpretation?
