Seems like it was a San Francisco thing, because a near identical thing happened to me in the SF airport.

While time has passed and the event is behind you, please be assured that this 30 year old has nothing but respect for you and all others who served in Vietnam.

Having been in Desert Storm, my experiences upon returning were completely opposite. I wish that I could take all the positive words and free drinks that were passed my way and forward them to you and other Vietnam vets that were treated badly.

Must be the water, I was spit on in the early AM in SF airport, April, 1967, when I was coming back from my first tour. I still have some faded teeth scars on my right hand.
