"Regarding the shell casing found in the truck, local (Baltimore) station is reporting that it is too old to be related to recent weeks' shootings. It apparently is quite oxidized and months old. That points either to a plant or a bad lead alltogether. I have no idea who their source was."

As an addition to my post above, if this turns out to be correct, the police should have been able to rule this out right away. So why the drama at the press conference this morning and why make everyone wait until Monday? Doesn't make much sense.

WTOP AM 1500 is reporting the Washington Post is reporting the shell casing recovered in the rental van in Herndon is too large to fit in a .223.
