I'll try and remember to put that tip line # in the daily thread. Thanks. BTW, Monday will be the last day I'll be posting this thread. I think the shooter has moved underground for now. Was going to stop posting thread tomorrow, but just know Freepers will have fun commenting on Moose's press conference Monday.

I don't mean to be a scold, and I'm way out on the left coast anyway. I think though that terrorism is going to get MUCH worse, perhaps to Israeli levels, and we are going to have to be very stoical about going about our normal lives.

If we don't, they win.

bears repeating, and i concur.

btw, next time these bastards surface, it'll likely be on your side of the map ...

The Hillandale Shopping Center consists of three buildings north of the Beltway on the eastern side of New Hampshire Ave. As you go from north to south, the liquor store is in the central building (also the building that's furthest to the east). The store fronts in that building, including the liquor store, face west. The liquor store is the second or third store from the northern edge of the building. There's a clear line of sight between the front of the liquor store and a wooded area on the western side of New Hampshire. New Hampshire itself is in between, so a shot would be blocked by the traffic on New Hampshire -- there are no elevated parts of that wooded area. That wooded area, by the way, is around an entry to the Beltway.

To get to this scene on New Hampshire, I drove east on Randolph Rd. and therefore also passed the site where the first person was shot dead, in the shopping area of the Shoppers Discount Warehouse on Randolph Rd. just off Georgia Ave. The supermarket and its parking are on the north side of Randolph Rd. The Glenmont police station is right across the street on the southern side of Randolph Rd. A bit east of that police station is a wooded park area that would have a clear line of sight to the supermarket parking on the other side of Randolph. That area too is not elevated, and a shot would be blocked by the traffic on Randolph.

Yes the Hillandale Beer and Wine store...is the shooting that wounded it's victim...took place at 10 pm when he was under the light taking his time locking the door. Sept 14th near the beltway...it totally fits the MO. One shot, 223, no reason, victim shot at a distance...he is lucky enouigh to talk about it...so the WACKO theory 9/11 of nine deaths and 11 shootings will be soon be blown out of the water...OHHH the victim stated that many pieces of the fragmented bullet are still in his body. They recovered one fragment I recall him saying.

Thanks so much for the personal research. I wish more locals would help us. Working with just infomation from Moose and Squirel has been really hard.

I see you have been busy...What, no pictures(just kidding)....when I saw the liquor store owner interviewed last night, he seemed to think the shot came from across the parking lot...they did not show how the strip mall was laid out so I have no reference point.

My guess - it is a match. Shooter left on a plane from Dulles after truck dropped off. Support team ( using fake cards and ids ) safely back home.

The parking lot is between the liquor store and the wooded area on the western side of New Hampshire.

...and this is a clear shot...?...there probably wouldn't be that many cars in the lot at 10pm and the liquor store is closing.

I know it's not possible to read all the posts about this case. There have been thousands. But 'angkor' and 'xsmommy'- both local to the scene of the last shooting - were kind enough to answer some of my questions and provide good information about this location. If you are interested, start reading at about post #92 on the FR page linked below.

It is a clear shot, but I'm not sure there would be no cars in the lot at 10 PM. The southernmost of the buildings in the shopping center houses a supermarket, in which I happen to have shopped a couple of times. I think it's a Giant, and I think it's a 24-hour store. I'm almost positive it would be open well past 10 PM on a Saturday, which Sept. 14th was. I find it hard to believe there wouldn't have still been many shoppers parked in the lot at that time.

14th was a Monday AND a holiday.

October 14th was a Monday and a holiday. September 14th, when the shooting occurred outside the Hillandale liquor store, was a Saturday and not a holiday.
