Last time I looked, there was no commandment against homosexuality. It must rank below coveting and remembering to keep the Sabbath holy. I hope everyone thinks about that.

A man or woman who willfully engages in homsexual acts disgraces and fouls the body, perverting it from its use as intended by its Creator. Sexual sins are especially serious because they mock and disgrace the life-creative power itself.

Only if your conscience is seared beyond spiritual feeling can you nonchalantly dismiss homosexual acts as harmless and inoffensive.

(I can't seem to find the trick of using italics here. Sorry, I'll just have to use quotation marks.)

"A man or woman who willfully engages in homsexual acts disgraces and fouls the body, perverting it from its use as intended by its Creator. Sexual sins are especially serious because they mock and disgrace the life-creative power itself."

Actually, I think God believes that some sins are MORE serious than sexual sins. Please read Genesis 1:29-30, and compare it to God's words in Genesis 9:4-6, where he will demand "an accounting" for the lifeblood of man and animal. And in Isaiah 66, God's word is that he who kills an ox is the same as he who kills a man. Matthew 12 describes the ONLY unforgiveable sin, and it has nothing to do with sex. So, do YOU spill the blood of men? Do YOU sin and subvert the will and glory of God? Do YOU blaspheme against the Holy Spirit? And if you do, should we tell YOU that you aren't "good enough" to be a Republican?

If God was so hung up on sexual sin, why did He make Abram and Sarai the patriarch and matriarch of His people, when Sarai was willingly passed off to Pharaoh to be his wife in order to save Abram's skin? Why did God condone selling daughters into sexual slavery (Exodus)? What about the sexual antics of Ruth and Boaz, in Jesus' lineage? I think you are very selective in reading your Bible so that you don't have to face a different view. I apologize if this offends you, but it is how I feel.

"Only if your conscience is seared beyond spiritual feeling can you nonchalantly dismiss homosexual acts as harmless and inoffensive."

My conscience is finely-tuned and prickly sharp, thank you very much. I never said that some homosexual acts weren't harmful or offensive. But I also think that abortion is killing; it is not harmless or inoffensive. But you aren't talking about kicking abortion-rights killers out of the party, perhaps because you KNOW that it would be political suicide. I just happen to think you can effect more and better change by living as an example of your faith (what Christ's salvation means in your life) and not as example of narrow-mindedness.

That may well be the case but ... are you willing to break down their doors and haul them out of their bedrooms?
