Now that Jimmy Carter has won the "Peanut Prize" (Editorial, Oct. 12) because - as Nobel committee head Gunnar Berge freely admits - of his opposition to President Bush's policy on Iraq, perhaps the award should be renamed the Nobel Appeasement Prize.

The Noble Peace Prize is not about results, it never has been. It's about promoting the liberal, socialist agenda. No doubt if it had been about results Reagan would have won a long time ago.
