Chief Moose is a BAD joke who fumbles his way through his 3 or 4 news conferences a day.
Since the sniper attacks occured in two different states and DC, I don't understand why the FBI hasn't taken charge of the investigation.

The FBI will leave local authorities as the public front, and work behind-the-scenes. I don't think Moose give a hoot either way, but a lot of local authorities will refuse to cooperate if the Fibbies start stealing the limelight.
I agree that Moose would just as soon do without the limelight. He should just stop doing news conferences altogether, unless there is something important to say.
When and if an arrest comes, it will be attributed to the local authorities, just as it was in the Kenyan bombing cases and for everyone run down in association with the bombing of the USS Cole. But, rest assured, the Fibbies played their part.

I don't understand why the FBI hasn't taken charge of the investigation. What makes you think they haven't? Isn't 400 agents enough?

Surely the FBI -- perhaps even the Pentagon -- is in charge of the Maryland sniper case by now. Yesterday's withdrawal of all the facts in the case is an indication of that. Moose and his MD colleagues are now just puppets.
I like Moose, however. With a few more years of experience under his belt, he could be another Rummy.

Try reading the Constitution of the United States some time if you want an answer about why the FBI hasn't taken over the whole case.
