There is no such thing as a minor nuclear explosion There is such a thing as a micro nuke, much smaller than the Hiroshimi and Nagasaki weapons, but they are likely well beyond the capabilties of the N. Koreans and even the Chinese.

I havn't heard of the micro nukes, If you have any links on them, please share. My father worked on the Manhatton Project developing the VT fuse,. He had no idea what the fuse was for at the time. It wasn't till after Japan surrendered and a visit by Harry S. Truman to John Hopkins Applied Physics Lab to thank them all for their work, did he realize what the VT Fuse was for. I have a demo of one sitting here on my desk :-) I believe the VT Fuse is still in use today on the 75H and 105H rounds
