Do you really think a few civilians running around with pistols would mean a bit of difference to these guys if they are terrorists?!

Really, snipers have been effective against whole platoons of guys with assault rifles! This sniper could reach out and touch you at 300 yards and you or anyone standing around your body couldn't hit a school bus at that distance with your pistol. Nine of his 11 victims have died instantly. So your weapon is no defense.

They could just as easily do this in Dallas or Miami or Atlanta or Los Angeles or Phoenix as in suburban Maryland and Virginia. Don't let your own bravado fool you.

I have no bravado. But common sense and the Corps has taught me that returning fire is better than doing nothing. Using the right ammo, quite a bit of damage can be done to surrounding area's resulting in secondary "shrapenel"(sp?). Just 'cause I use a .357, .44 or 9mm does not mean that I cannot do some damage and keep the assholes head down.

Selfish ping..I STILL think he/she is in the run off system (gutter's/Sewage..whatever you want to call it). When my friends and I were young, we could make it all over our neighborhood through storm drains alone.

Folks, we in VA are a ccw state and, we believe the death penalty is a proper sentence for an unforgivable crime. It doesn't stop anyone hellbent on murder. If someone breaks into your home and you are amed, you have a good chaance of surviving. This cowardly move however, leaves us defenseless because, you don't know that you are the target until you're hit. Then it's too late.

I don't have an answer yet as to how to stay safe, I do know he/they haven't hit the same place twice. Let's not let he/them ruin our economy more than has been done. This person(s) is/are not in charge of our country and wat of life.

Would I CHOOSE to engage this fiend with only a CCW pistol? Nope, I would prefer my .25-06 varminter, but he is making his shots from less than 200 yards according to the cops (until the most recent killing which may have been from several hundred yards). And no MY pistol would not protect ME, but if I were a witness, I might be much closer. In any case, a CCW holder could take a rest or drop to prone and empty a magazine or cylinder full at a timed fire tempo and have a good chance of hitting this geek. Would it be safe? Hell no. But diving for cover is the wrong way to react to an ambush.

The locals had better adopt a much more agressive attitude. Anyone driving a car has a powerful weapon at hand. If a witness sees the shooter and it is possible, pull the seatbelt tight and ram as hard as you can.
