I think you are correct - I know a few places he wouldn't make it out of, and he would probably be taken out by a black powder squirrel gun, not an "assault rifle"

Yup. Just yesterday I heard (Through the woods) my neighbor to the north out shooting his M1 the one to the west his 30-30. So, I went outside and ripped a few rounds out of my AK-47. Good 'ol down home folks.
