Media interviews of witnesses whicih get published are causing confusion, time wasted trying to clarify, etc.
There's also the severe problem of witness contamination. If a witness who hasn't been interviewed yet sees a press report there's a strong desire to conform with what is already out there. Witnesses need to be isolated.
