Has he moved on...NOPE, don't think so.

He may have stopped because he, too, thought he had been ID'd. Now, he knows he has not been. But, he's careful and may decide to lay low for a while.

Can anybody believe one word Duncan Says?
You can see him making up his devious non-answers...

Are the police just not releasing a composite?

MumboJumboMumboJumbo...

From the latest WP story:

"The witness firmly believes this is the weapon that he saw," (Capt. Nancy) Demme said. "Keep in mind that, just like the vehicle, each witness firmly believes what they do see. It's not to discredit the witness in the least. That may be what he thinks he saw, and we have to keep in mind that weapons are interchangeable, as are vehicles. Please don't narrow your focus to just one weapon."

This is not the witness who said he confronted the two ME-looking men in the van, since he said nothing about a weapon, but apparently, now none of the witnesses are considered credible.

Wells said that reports of a white box truck or white van seen fleeing the area of several of the shootings essentially become a self-fulfilling prophesy as witnesses to a shooting basically look for a vehicle that is white – one of the most common colors.

This second comment is interesting, since all the ballyhoo was centered on the "white box truck or white van" by none other than Moose himself. Provide a self-fullfilling prophesy, get results that reflect the prophesy, and then annouce that witnesses can't be trusted because they've been contaminated by the prophesy, so therefore no more information will be given. Of course, if you have no other information, this is a great strategy.

I just posted on another thread, and I could be wrong, but while Mr. Massis comes across as kinda stange and definitely seeking his 15 minutes of fame, I don't think he's the discredited witness.

Everytime I have seen Mr. Massis (last time he had a new haircut, shave and shirt) all he says is that he heard a shot, saw Mrs. Franklin on the ground and heard screaming and crying. When asked if he saw the shooter, vehicle or gun he has always (on TV) said, "no."

I'm wondering if the discredited witness is the person that said they saw the shooter step from the van, take the shot, get back in the van and drive off...in the parking lot...40 yards away. I have not seen this guy on TV anywhere.

I thought the instruction to have a pen and paper along at all times to write stuff down was amusing.

When I'm in a hurry and write something down (let alone in a panic cuz I just saw a shooting) and go back and try to read it, I usually can't..it's illegible.

Guess they haven't hear of camcorders, yet.

But a pen would be a good idea to write down a license plate, at least :).

That is my understanding, that it is this person that ID'd the weapon and this is the person that is dis-credited. In fact they are even suggesting a deliberate falsification, in which case...... wonder if this particular witness was olive skinned??? I would imagine this person is in heep big trouble. Is this to try and get people to NOT give eye witness evidence? Scare them into thinking that if they inadvertantly give bad info they will be in trouble like this guy?

Yes, or if you were looking for a PC way to shut down the information flow, that keeps making them look bad. Remember, Mooses' weirdo comment (9 days ago) about the cop that was contaminated at the scene?

Do you think Moose meant that the cop contaminated the scene?

I don't know, but it has been suggested several times here since yeterday that the shot was probably taken from further away and across the street. Who knows, anymore?

Agree with you..

I do think they have now assessed everything just as we have, have picked their next site (from the many they had reconned).

Will they lie low??

Don't think so. They have a "Right back at you" attitude.

After counting who would be doing what in all this to produce this "invisible man" scenario, there's more than 2.

Drudge has a link to a New York Times story about police having made numerous arrests over illegal weapons as they conduct the sniper investigation. I'm wondering if one of those arrests could be the sniper, but they haven't been able to build enough evidence or something--maybe they took someone in on a weapons charge who is the sniper, since the shootings all of a sudden kind of stopped...

Well now that I have begun to better understand Moose's ebonics, this is what I think:

Moose was afraid that there was a reporter at the press conference, that had heard what the Cop said at the scene. Moose did not want what the cop said out in the public.

The question was "Chief, there was a cop right in the intersection, at the scene of the woman shot vacuuming her car. What did he see, Chief?"

Carry a piece of chalk...Put an X where you are if something strange happens... write any number on the pavt with the chalk and throw your jacket over it to cover it and keep it unrevealed until the police arrive. You could even do this on your belly.

My husband thinks it's a PC shutdown.

And funny enough, I'm listening to talk radio (PHX). The host is interviewing Charles Barkley. Host went on to say he thought the shooter(s) is/are white and asked Charles what he thought. Charles said he doesn't know, it could be ME terorism, but hopes not because there are alot of good muslim people in this country and it would be bad for them.

The host immediately said, "OK, let's change the subject."
Ha!

Barkley's new book is approprately titled, "I May Be Wrong, But I Doubt It."

LOL, not a bad idea, but I wouldn't have thought of it. And I'm sure as heck not writing anything on my belly and showing it to a cop!

There was a cop in the intersection at the scene of the woman shot while vacuuming. The lady shot while sitting on the bench, was right across the street from the big Glenmont Police station.

Maybe they didn't have a pen handy and got contaminated by the witnesses?
