Hey, I like ole Chief Moose, myself. Sure, he's in over his head, but those over HIS head ain't doing so well, either.
At least he's more interesting to watch than all those slug LE's we had to abide in the many kidnapping cases.

Miss Dowd is very disgrumbled

Maureen Dowd bit my sister?

Could this possibly mean that she will someday soon notice that Hillary has finally gone "limp"? That her buldge is not quite as prominent as it was when she was around Bill?

New York Times leftist Maureen Dowd has Montgomery County Police Chief Charles Moose in her cross hairs for bungling the effort to catch the Beltway sniper. This "lady" was born with cross hairs; when did she drop the "Y" off her last name?
To: Old Professer
As a Marylander I have been quite impressed with Chief Moose. The only bungling that has been done has been the media!!

Like Clinton, Dowd is irrelevant but neither one knows it. A pox on both of them.

Last week she was blaming everything on the Jews.
This week she finds Chief Moose inadequate because - well he isn't as articulate as her friends.
Do I see a pattern here?
I think she needs to be sent packing back where she belongs - in Europe somewhere, probably with the Eurotrash at the ski lodges or what, eh?!

Well to borrow a phrase from Chief Moose, for Dowd, "She's just FLUSTRATED!"
Thank you! I thought I had heard him wrong. I'm glad to know that he had actually said "flustrated."

I think it's time Maureen made a trip to her friendly, neighborhood Michael's Craft Store.

I was wondering how the locals felt about the Chief.
I wonder at people who pick apart a press conference of an LEO or other actual professional by newshounds. It is not as if their competancy can be entirely judged by their public speaking skills. Was he elected or appointed?
We are not talking about a politician, lawyer, or an actor here.I have no opinion of the Chief,I dont know enough about him, and I have never seen him speak.
Is it possible that in the last decade people got so used to seeing slick tongued liars on TV, that they assume the lack of public speaking polish means lack of professional competancy?
Again, I know little about this man or his record. His villification by media and some FReepers may be justified.I wonder what my Chief would do under these circumstances.I hope he would tell the press to talk to the Mayor, and get the #*//out of his face, that he had work to do.

I would put money on the fact that whoever told Ms. Dowd that she should write an editorial column was in dire need of electric shock treatmemt.
I am also of the opinion that whoever OK's her copy for publication needs to get into a drug rehab program...AND QUICKLY!
To vilify Chief Moose in regard to the sniper is callous and just plain low.
It's not difficult to imagine that the Chiefs of Police in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles and ever other big city across this nation are first and foremost looking up to the sky and thanking "what ever God they believe in" that this rash of dastardly crimes are not happening in their fair cities.
Secondly, I have no doubt that these same "Top Cops" are busily putting contingency plans in place for if and when (God forbid) this nightmare scenario comes their way, with most of them not having a clue of what to do if it should.
Chief Moose is in over his head, there's no doubt about it...BUT WHO WOULDN'T BE. It's only been 13 months since we started playing by the new rule book, but unfortuately, we haven't gotten our copy yet...and it's left up to guys like President Bush, Mayor Giuliani and Chief Moose to learn the rules when they come into play and adapt from there.
Dowd is becoming a "boiler-plater" opinionist.
She's only written maybe two or three original pieces and from there she simply inserts a new name, location, subject matter, and then hits the "PRINT" key.
And one more thing....Dowd looking for Dirty Harry?
Wow, that's rich.
But you know as well as I do that if Clint did reprise his roll and put two or three .44s in this guys chest...that it would only take five New York seconds for Dowd to start screeming POLICE BRUTALITY!

"I think he's out of his league in being the front man for such a complex case as this",
If accusations start flying that moose screwed up the sniper case, don't forget he had plenty of help. The media is announcing where, when, and how law enforcement is making every move. They even announced that aircraft were being used for survelliance. The media has been directing people to look for white vans and a right wing NRA member, when it was apparent from the start to most that this was a terrorist attack.

"Dowdster and ask HER to come down and direct the efforts to find this killer"
Hey, that's a thought. Dowd could parade around the snipers stomping ground with a red target painted on her back. The police could drive around with the PA system cranked up full blast, announcing, "the bitch is over here...make my day."

I'm glad to know that he had actually said "flustrated." Flustrated is when you are simultaneously frustrated and flustered.- Tom

And in today's celebrity news, Catherine and Mo's ex-boyfriend Michael Douglas (quoted by Page Six as complaining of Mo that "she just lays there") are expecting a second baby.

Good idea, but too much of a chance that somebody ELSE would take the opportunity to clean the gene pool before the sniper could draw a bead on her.
