After reviewing what is already out in the public sphere, a cogent case can be made that the "sniper attacks" are the product of "Jihadists" or sleeper cells that were poised to perpetrate terrorism on American soil. Let us know when the author is able to make one.

utilizing an apparent assault rifle
Is an "apparent assault rifle" anything like a "virtual assault rifle"? Also, "utilizing" is usually a tip-off that the writer is a. a poor writer and b. wants to sound important by using a 4 syllable word where a 2 syllable one will do.

What are the statistical chances that these "snipers" (and I do believe that there is more than one individual here) randomly hit an FBI employee involved in intelligence and counter-terrorism work? I would estimate it at several million to one. Considering the location of the attacks, I think the odds are pretty good that some federal employees would be among the victims.
I do agree with much of the article, but I think the sniper "got lucky" with the FBI employee.

Yes... you are correct... there is no smoking gun. Perhaps Bin Laden will be kind enough to announce on Al Jazeera that his minions are responsible, afterall why would sleeper cells wish to conceal their handiwork?

...And he probably bought his gun at a gun show because of the gun-show loophole.

I'd like to agree with this theory, but I don't. If it were true, witnesses would have seen some jerk jumping up and down praising allah after every hit. And his wife would be doing that tongue-wagging yodling thing...

If you look like a moslem, but aren't, you can't help that. Wear your love for, and loyalty to, America like a badge. Stand toe to toe with those who are justifiably wary of your physical resemblance to our blood enemies and make your fellow Americans understand where your heart is.
If you look like a moslem, and you ARE a moslem, you need to repudiate that filth and convert to an authentic religion. (or to no religion at all if that is your choice)
And if you don't want to do that, you need to get the Hell out of this country.
That... Or deal with the consequences.

Why do I get the feeling this information is being released almost on cue. Wanna bet we find out in the future that the shooters are positively linked to Saddam through terrorist camps, or financial support, or whatever?

The author probably wasnt class valedictorian
but then her poor credentials would not necessarily disqualify her hypothesis. Libs certainly dont defer to Bushs MBA from Harvard, do they?
To: 1bigdictator
Maybe so, maybe no. When they catch the perp(s) we'll know--unless the government decides on another coverup to spare the people's feelings.

Lets take your "conspiracy" theory to its logical extention... cut out the middle man... and just blame the Jews/Zionists/Israel... or whatever makes you comfortable.

The government will tell us these guys are linked to Saddam. A smoking gun that isn't a mushroom cloud. A declaration of war.

Not necessarily. These guys want to create as much mayhem as possible. It's not knowing the gunman's motive -- and the resulting conclusion that it's random -- that creates uncertainty and fear. Plus, these guys can't exactly retreat to the relative safety of the West Bank, Gaza, or Lebanon after an attack. They know that the FBI and local law enforcement are actively hunting them; hence, I think they're trying to minimize the amount of evidence they give to the police (although the tarot card, if it indeed exists, was an odd thing).

I wouldn't want to blame the Jews? If it were up to me the palestinians would live in Jordan and the west bank would be Israel.

Hope the author buys their aluminum foil at Sam's Club. It's a lot cheaper to make a new hat every day that way.

True... there are no sleeper cells in this country... we know this because our intelligence was so well funded and supported under Clinton. Moreover it would be crazy to think any Islamists in this country sympathetic to Al Qaeda would wish to terrorize our nations capital-- the two 9/11 jets intended for Washington were actually meant for Bermuda, right?
Muslims hate those Bermuda shorts, ya know.

Please....NOBODY tell the media! You don't want them to be open to charges that we are profiling or somehow intolerant, a much BIGGER crime than multiple murders!
Let's keep our priority straight....dead innocents aside, we must be tolerant above all else! /scarcasm

Here's part of what I posted on another thread. I'm really leaning to Hamas for the DC shootings myself, rather than AQ.
Steven Emerson's book "American Jihad" is very informative about Hamas in the US--he states (and be sure to notice the reference to Falls Church, Virginia here):
"...there is another organization [other than AQ]...that has flown under the media's radar in the wake of Sept.11, 2001: Hamas....Yet Hamas is extremely well entrenched in the US, and the interlocking operations with which it is associated are extraordinary in their reach."
"Of all the Islamic militant groups, Hamas has developed the most sophisticated American infrastructure...Hamas's success in planting some of its most senior military officials in the US provides some of the most compelling evidence of the deep roots of radical Islamic networks on American soil...
"[Speaking of a meeting] Though the gathering was in America, and many of the speakers lived in this country, their targets were international. Musa abu Marzook, a resident of Falls Church, Virginia, was one major Hamas leader who spoke there."

I would estimate it at several million to one. One basic flaw in his argument (although i think he's right) is this one. One could make the same claim for any victim simply by finding an attribute that is less common, which most people have.
