Maybe his priority is to keep the country functioning in spite of the constant danger. You know, like the Brits did in WWII when the buzz bombs were coming in regularly?

My dad was in London during WW2 ... I have heard many stories of his time there, and we visited just this past year. The people in London during WW2 managed to 'keep a stiff upper lip' because the government was frank and up front with them during that time, not playing PC games with the truth. America is stronger and smarter than the people inside the beltway think. We deserve to be told what will keep us safe as a nation, not what will keep us bleating passively in the fields while we are hunted down.

Do we know the truth yet? What would you say if you were President of the United States at this point? "It might be a terrorist, run for your lives?"

Check the speech to the joint session of Congress back in September, 2001. The President was very blunt about the war as he saw it then and the dangers we would be facing.

I'n not as sure as you are. I expect the usual suspects would begin crying foul. The legion of soccer moms would wish we could just "talk to them to work this out," (while rigging PTA elections, of course - I don't care for the so-called 'soccer moms').

Americans clearly don't have what it takes to fight this, as it stands now. Indeed, the only conclusion I can draw is that things have to get much worse, before they will get better.
