This ban also includes bow/arrow and muzzloading hunting that are about to come into season, and all practice and recreational shooting.

Including indoors? Probably, if only by being so cluess as to not even think of indoor ranges. Nobody would report "suspicious gunfire" from an indoor gun range, or likely an outdoor one either, since the neighbors all know very well where the gun ranges are.

The inclusion of other projectiles is idiotic. The idea of cutting down on gunshots in the area right now isn't a bad one -- people are edgier than usual, and police are extremely overtaxed, and don't need to be bogged down with calls from nervous citizens who "heard a gunshot". But the mission could be accomplished much more effectively with a REQUEST that people refrain from hunting and from target shooting other than at established ranges. A request for people to do their part to help the effort by avoiding a lot of unnecessary shooting would be taken to heart by many. An order just pisses everybody off, and may incline some to go out shooting just to spite the arrogant governor.

How does Glenspending propose deer should be killed?

Run them down and kill them with Bowie knives? Or are those banned in Maryland too? IF so I guess you have bite them in the neck.

Whoa. Good move. Now the sniper can't fire his weapon.

I agree, but wouldn't it have been simplier for him to just make murder illegal?

Your post just made me think of an unintended consequence--Now if someone who didn't get the word goes hunting or target pratices in his backyard, is Maryland going to provide policing to stop him and prosecution to convict him? Will the police shoot first, ask questions later? What a waste with so much else going on!!!!

No, no Mr.Cat. You should use an SUV. It helps tenderize the meat.

I guess y'all best start on those jaw strengthing exercises. :) A quick search produced this summary of Maryland laws on knives from Knife Art

Maryland
Summary: "Penknives" are OK. Anything else is borderline illegal and may require a concealed weapon permit.
Max length: None apparent.
Relevant laws: MD Statues Crimes and Punishments § 36, § 36A-O
Quirks: You may carry a "weapon as a reasonable precaution against apprehended danger", but it's up to a tribunal to decide the reasonableness/appropriateness of posession.
Local restrictions:
Cecil, Anne Arundel, Talbot, Harford, Caroline, Prince George's, Montgomery, St. Mary's, Washington, Worcester, Kent, and Baltimore Counties have special prohibitions regarding children under 18 carrying knives. See § 36(a)(3).

I see listings for Highpower rifle matches at Ft. Meade so they must have an active range.

This is such a typical response by a politicrat: a hand-wringing display to convince the voters that government is going to make a difference. What a joke!

Politics : from two Latin words. Poly meaning many and tics meaning blood sucking creatures.
